Jeffree Cosmetics, ColourPop Cosmetics and Orogold Cosmetics are the latest brands to be targeted by an anti-trust case brought by a former employee, according to an investor blog post.
The complaint alleges that the three companies “have intentionally engaged in conduct that could result in the loss of competitive advantages or unfair treatment, and thereby have engaged in unfair competition, and that they have engaged, or are likely to engage, in anticompetitive conduct.”
The complaint also alleges that all three companies’ business practices “could result in substantial losses to consumers.”
The three companies have denied all the allegations.
In an emailed statement, the company said it has a long history of diversity, and “that diversity is our hallmark.”
Jeffree said the company would not comment on pending litigation.
The companies have been operating since 2012 under a new name, Cosmetics Brands Group, and have been the subject of a number of regulatory investigations in recent years.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a civil suit against all three.
