Chinese shoppers who have been hit hard by the country’s devastating drought are going back to basics.
According to the Associated Press, many shoppers are opting to use what’s called “flekk” cosmetics, which use organic ingredients and are cheap.
The AP reports that flekk cosmetics are made of coconut oil, coconut milk, and palm oil, and have a fragrance that is similar to that of toilet paper.
The products are available online at Chinese retailers like Taobao and Shiseido.
Some brands have been selling flekk for years.
Last year, the United Nations estimated that nearly one in four people in China were affected by drought and the country is experiencing its worst drought in years.
